Great work guys!

The blog is looking good! I just added a whole bunch of new resource links to the sidebar and the one Alison added as well, they will have lots of info on the ideas we need research for, next it will be applying these ideas onto the design we choose!

I've fixed the Google Docs link so now it's working.

Work hard everyone! Let's try and get a meeting in tomorrow morning.

Thanks,

~Jenni

Aim: application to a design project of theoretical knowledge -acquired in preceding semesters and further increasing –about building energy efficiency and thermal, visual and acoustic comfort

Task: To develop the concept [orientation, structure, material, energy production] and to design of a prefabricated zero energy living unit (stand alone) for an individual or a couple

Energy: On-site energy production

Water: Water harvesting and an-site treatment

ASSIGNMENT 01 [submission 1 April 2010] 30% of final mark

Submission format: Poster A1

Site: Auckland City Campus [see map]

Energy strategy [losses/gains]:

Concept for energy savings + on-site energy production

for heating/cooling, DHW and lighting

Compact layout [unit = container size; modular]

Design Technology: Prefabrication system

Structure and materials

Water: Water harvesting and an-site treatment

ASSIGNMENT 02 [submission 10 June 2010] 70% of final mark
